Himalayan snow cock

Also known as Ram Chukor/chukar, native of the lofty mountains of Asia, this pheasant is a large overall gray partridge with a white face and throat. It has a brown band below the eye that extends on the neck forming a collar.

Its upper breast has black streaks; the flanks are grey, streaked with black and white. Females are similar to males but lack tarsal spurs and have more buff on the face. The snow cock feeds on grasses found on slopes around 3000 m high.
